Louis Amundson Out, Brandan Wright Could Get More Looks

Coach Keith Smart says that losing Amundson’s size, hustle, and muscle is going to impact the Warriors, reports Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle:

“It’s tough, because he was starting to come around and finally had a chance to play,” coach Keith Smart said. “He brought energy and toughness to the floor, and now we have to wait for him to come back around again.”

Simmons than quotes Smart discussing Brandan Wright’s work (19 minutes, 11 points, 6 boards) against Portland in Amundson’s absence:

“He has got to keep talking, keep developing and keep growing, and when his time comes to get on the floor, he’ll be productive,” Smart said. “That’s the way he approached it (Saturday).”

Brandan Wright may be more polished on the offensive end than Amundson, but can he battle down low as effectively? And worse yet, has Amundson caught the alleged Warriors injury curse?
