Brian Wilson's agent talking to plenty of clubs, but not the Giants

The San Francisco Giants haven't completely ruled out the possibility of re-signing free agent closer Brian Wilson, but the club did not speak to Wilson or his representatives at the Winter Meetings in Nashville, according to Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com.

The 30-year-old Wilson pitched in just two games in 2012 after an elbow injury forced him to undergo Tommy John surgery for the second time in his seven-year career. Wilson's surgery was performed on April 19, and despite an expected recovery time of about 12 months, Wilson has vowed to be ready for Opening Day.

Wilson was non-tendered by the Giants last Friday, as the team opted not to offer him a contract that would have paid him no less than $6.8 million through salary arbitration. With two Tommy John surgeries on his medical report and his expected recovery time digging into spring training, it's difficult to gauge what the right-hander might be worth on the open market.

The Giants appear set on using Sergio Romo as their primary closer, with Jeremy Affeldt and Santiago Casilla stepping into the role in situation-specific scenarios, so Wilson might find himself in a different uniform in 2013 and beyond.
