The 2012 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers is set to begin from AT&T Park on Wednesday night.
The Giants, who won the National League West this year, have lived on the edge this postseason. After falling behind 0-2 to the Reds in the NLDS, the club won three straight in Cincinnati to win the series. San Francisco then trailed the Cardinals 3-1 in the Championship Series before wining three in a row to clinch their second trip to the Fall Classic in three years.
The Tigers have made life easier on themselves this October after winning the AL Central. The club knocked off the Oakland Athletics in the Division Series before completely dominating the Yankees in a four-game sweep to win the ALCS. This marks their first appearance in the World Series since 2006.
