Giants vs. Tigers, World Series: San Francisco is the underdog

The odds point to the Detroit Tigers winning the World Series in five games.

The odds makers are saying the Detroit Tigers are going to win the World Series as they are open the series against the San Francisco Giants favored at -175, Oddsshark.com reported on Tuesday.

The Giants opened as +155 underdogs. The favorite bet right now has the Tigers winning the series in five games at +350. Both teams are sitting at +450 to win the World Series 4-3.

Miguel Cabrera opens as the odds-on favorite to win the World Series MVP at 5-to-1. Buster Posey comes in next at 13-to-2. Justin Verlander and Prince Fielder are at 8-to-1, and Delmon Young, Hunter Pence, Marco Scuatro and Pablo Sandoval are all 12-to-1 odds.

The Tigers are only favored by 1.5 runs in Game 1, with the over/under opening at 7 runs. The Giants and Cardinals eclipsed 7 runs four times in their NLCS series. The Tigers did it twice in their sweep of the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
