After losing Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday, the San Francisco Giants will attempt to even the series 2-2 by winning Thursday's Game 4.

After pitching well out of the bullpen during the playoffs, Tim Lincecum will make his first start of the 2012 postseason. He's pitched 8-1/3 innings thus far, allowing just one run while striking out nine. After struggling with his control at times during the regular season, Lincecum walked just one batter in the postseason. He didn't face the St. Louis Cardinals during the regular season.

The Cardinals will also turn to a former ace in Game 4 as Adam Wainwright will make the start for St. Louis. After missing the 2011 season due to injury, Wainwright posted a 3.94 ERA during the regular season, his highest ERA in a full Major League season. He had mixed success in two postseason starts, both in the NLDS against Washington. He allowed one run over 5-2/3-innings in his first start, but got tagged for six earned runs in 2-1/3-innings in his second start. Wainwright pitched well in two starts against the Giants during the regular season, allowing three earned runs over 12-2/3-innings.

First pitch from Busch Stadium on Thursday is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
