The San Francisco Giants now head on the road to take on the St. Louis Cardinals with the series tied at 1-1. Game 3 of the National League Championship Series takes place Wednesday afternoon at Busch Stadium.
The Giants fell in Game 1 of the NLCS by a final score of 6-4. David Freese and Carlos Beltran helped chase Madison Bumgarner early with two-run home runs each to help build St. Louis up to a 6-0 lead. The Giants would rally with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, but would do no more after that.
The Giants recovered with a solid 7-1 victory in Game 2, as Ryan Vogelsong went seven innings and allowed only four hits to the Cardinals lineup. Angel Pagan, Marco Scutaro and Ryan Theriot led the Giants with RBI hits.
Matt Cain takes the mound in Game 3 for the Giants. He'll face off with Kyle Lohse of the Cardinals.
Game Time: Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. PT. First pitch scheduled at 1:07 p.m.
