San Francisco Giants first base coach Roberto Kelly suffered a concussion after being struck in back of the with a Buster Posey line drive during batting practice Saturday, according to Comcast SportsNet.
Kelly was taken to a nearby hospital for tests but was released shortly after and is expected to be on the field for Game 1 of the NLCS Sunday evening.
Here's what Posey had to say about the unfortunate incident:
"Anytime somebody gets hit in the head you're worried for them. He seemed to be doing all right. He was cognizant and answering questions. I think any time with a head injury, it is scary because you just can't take anything for granted with that, and you have to be really, really careful."
Kelly played in the majors for 14 seasons as a career .290 hitter and has been the Giants' first base coach since 2008. He was brought on board due to his specialty in base-running and outfield defense.
