The defending World Series champions St. Louis Cardinals will head into AT&T Park on Sunday night to take on the San Francisco Giants to play the first of possible seven NLCS games between them, in order to decide who will move on for a chance to win the World Series.
St. Louis is coming off of an improbable comeback after rallying from behind 6-0 to beat the Washington Nationals on the road in the deciding game of the NLDS. But the Giants possess a lot of momentum of their own after rallying from behind 2-0 in the NLDS and winning three straight games on the road.
The Cardinals will hand the ball to right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn Game 1, who has not made a start for the Cardinals in this year's postseason. Lynn will be opposed by San Francisco's 23-year-old left-handed starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who struggled in his one and only outing this postseason.
