Giants vs. Dodgers, game preview: Matt Cain, Aaron Harang duel in game 1

The San Francisco Giants begin their last series before the postseason against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, with both teams looking to conclude on a high note at Dodger Stadium.

The Giants are trying to stay sharp heading into the second-season, while the Dodgers are two games back of the Cardinals in the wild card race, needing some wins and some help to make the playoffs.

Matt Cain (16-5, 2.77 ERA) will take hte bump for San Francisco, who's won 14 of his 18 starts on the road this season. He is 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA over his last eight starts versus the Dodgers, and he's 2-0 with a 2.29 ERA in his past six outings at Chavez Ravine. He tossed seven scoreless against the Diamondbacks in his last start on Wednesday, leading to a 6-0 win.

The Dodgers will counter with Aaron Harang (10-10, 3.68), who had no-hitter into the fifth inning of his start on Wednesday against the Padres. He lastied just one out more in their 8-2 win. Harang is 4-1 with a 2.15 ERA in his past seven starts against San Francisco.
