According to a tweet from CBS Sports' Bryan Fischer, Khairi Fortt will trade in his Nittany Lions uniform for Golden Bears gear as he'll transfer from Penn State to Cal as part of what could be a mass transfer of Penn State athletes to other schools after the program was levied a litany of penalties in the wake of the school's involvement in the Jerry Sandusky scandal.
It was already reported that Fortt also considered Florida State, Auburn and Washington as all three schools showed interest in the junior linebacker.
Fortt was in position to gain a significant increase in playing time this season as the competition at the linebacker position is always historically high at Penn State. During Fortt's sophomore season, he played in every game and recorded 33 tackles including six tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
