After the California Golden Bears (24-8, 13-5 Pac-12) fought back to topple their arch rival Stanford Cardinal on Thursday afternoon, they now turn their attention to the Colorado Buffaloes (21-11, 11-7 Pac-12) in the semifinals of the 2012 Pacific Life Pac-12 Tournament Friday at Staples Center.
The Buffaloes narrowly escaped the grasp of the Oregon Ducks on Thursday as well, advancing with the 63-62 victory, and now face a hungry Bears team out for vengeance after Stanford robbed them of the regular season title last Sunday with a win at Maples Pavilion, they want that Pac-12 title.
Both these teams split their two contests at home this season, with Colorado earning the latest victory 70-57 towards the end of February. Jorge Gutierrez has been amazing thus far for Cal, coming off a 22 point performance last night along with seven boards and six assists. Look for him to lead the way once more for the Bears on Friday.
