Pac-12 Basketball Standings: Cal Tied With Washington At First

The California Golden Bears control their own fate when it comes to winning the Pac-12 conference. Winning it outright might require some help.

Cal fell one game behind the Washington Huskies after a home loss to Arizona last week, but the Bears quickly regained that game when Washington got obliterated by Oregon in Eugene. Cal swept the LA schools to regain first place, although UW maintained pace after beating Oregon State on Sunday.

After the jump, a look at the standings, and what Cal needs to look out for this upcoming week.

Pacific-12 Conference Standings

(updated 2.12.2012 at 12:31 AM PST)

Conf Overall
W L W L
California Golden Bears 10 3 20 6
Washington Huskies 10 3 17 8
Oregon Ducks 9 4 18 7
Arizona Wildcats 9 4 18 8
Colorado Buffaloes 9 4 17 8
UCLA Bruins 7 6 14 11
Stanford Cardinal 7 6 17 8
Oregon St. Beavers 5 8 15 10
Washington St. Cougars 5 8 13 12
Arizona St. Sun Devils 4 9 8 17
Utah Utes 2 11 5 20
USC Trojans 1 12 6 20

Cal will host the Oregon schools these next few games and Washington will host the Arizona schools. Almost all of these games have some merit, with the Ducks and Wildcats both trailing Cal and Washington by one game. You could see some big swings in the standings by the time the week ends depending on who wins which games, as

Stanford is likely all but eliminated from NCAA consideration barring a run in the Pac-12 tournament and a championship coming from that.
