College Football Recruiting: Barry Sanders, Jr. Commits To Stanford Cardinal Over Oklahoma State

The Oklahoma St. Cowboys may have beaten the Stanford Cardinal in the Fiesta Bowl this past week, but the Cardinal may have just struck gold in the recruitment of Barry Sanders, Jr. The four-star running back, who is, the son of Hall Of Fame running back Barry Sanders, has officially committed to the Cardinal after announcing his intentions at the Army All American Game.

It was reportedly a two-team race to land Sanders, with Stanford and Oklahoma State in the lead. While his dad played at OSU, the Cowboys now feature a pass-heavy offensive attack that was likely unattractive for the talented running back. Stanford has developed two great running backs in recent years with Toby Gerhart and Stepfan Taylor and they will look to do so with Sanders as well.

Rule Of Tree, our Stanford team site, is excited about the commitment and grabbed this quote from the four-star tailback, "I get a chance to play with the greatest student-athletes in the world. They've been improving each year and they've got a bright future."

Congratulations to the Sanders family for their commitment to the Stanford Cardinal. This is a very big day for the program.
