College Football Recruiting: Shaq Thompson Commits To Cal Golden Bears

The California Golden Bears are having quite the recruiting day thus far and it only got better with the commitment of four-star safety Shaq Thompson. Thompson, who comes in a 6'1" and 215 pounds, had offers from many programs around the nation, including Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame, and seemingly every team in the Pac-12. He announced his decision while playing at the Army All American Game.

This is a great day for the Cal Bears and Shaq Thompson. Many viewed the Bears as the favorites to land Thompson, but the news finally became official on Saturday.

California Golden Blogs, our Cal team site, had this to say on the commitment:

Thompson joins DeSean Jackson and Keenan Allen as the top recruits coming out of high school in the Tedford era to end up in Strawberry Canyon. Thompson might be the most versatile of the bunch though, having shown the ability to play almost every skill position on the football field on offense, defense, and special teams.

This has been a great day for the California football program.
