Shaq Thompson Flips Cal Commitment To Washington Huskies

Shaq Thompson is perhaps the best high school prospect in Northern California in the past decade, and the California Golden Bears looked like they had locked him up after he made the call at the Army All-American Game in San Antonio.

Then Thompson's main recruiter Tosh Lupoi departed for Washington, and Shaq decided to reconsider his decision. Tonight, Thompson decided to make the call and move on up to UW.

This is a tough blow for Cal, who have already lost Ellis McCarthy to UCLA and Arik Armstead to Oregon. Once looking like the best recruiting class in the Pac-12 in 2012, the Cal defensive class is starting to look very vulnerable and a lot of other programs in the conference are benefiting.
