Aaron Gordon, 2013 Forward From Archbishop Mitty, Leaning Washington Huskies

We talked already about Jabari Bird being the best junior guard in the local area yesterday. But the best high school basketball junior recruit in the Bay Area resides in the South Bay in San Jose. Aaron Gordon is a top ten blue-chipper for the 2013 class, and he could develop into a wrecking machine by the time he's ready to play college basketball in two year's time.

Gordon seems to be conjuring up a similar list of schools as Bird--the Arizona Wildcats and Washington Huskies are the two premier Pac-12 schools vying for him, with the Kansas Jayhawks also figuring prominently into the mix. Only instead of Arizona, he has Washington as his favorite. PointGuardU.com with the report.

"I'd say Washington is on top right now, but Arizona's close. I have a great relationship with coach Romar so they're definitely in the lead right now, but it's close," Gordon said.

Though Washington leads for Gordon, he was adamant that he is open to recruitment and does not plan on making a decision any time soon, which is good news for Arizona fans.

"The Arizona coaches came to see one of my practices," Gordon said. "I talked to them and really liked what they're trying to do."

Washington might be Gordon's leader right now, but that's far from reassuring for Husky basketball fans, since it's clear he's going to take his time with the process. Considering how well Sean Miller has done in recruiting players from the Oakland Soldiers, you'd have to think Arizona is very much a player for Gordon's services before all is said and done.

Here he is dominating at the Pangos Camp.
