Stanford Football Recruiting: Nick Davidson, Eden Prairie OT, Commits To Cardinal

The Stanford Cardinal need to get ready to replenish the coffers when it comes to landing big-time quality offensive linemen. Both David DeCastro and Jonathan Martin will depart this offseason, leaving the Cardinal with none of the top recruits that Jim Harbaugh brought in and helped mold Stanford into one of the top offensive lines in the country.

So offensive line is a bit of a priority for Stanford. The Cardinal picked up a big one today from the Midwest. Budd Elliot of SB Nation Recruiting has more on the story.

Nick Davidson, an excellent offensive tackle recruit out of Eden Prairie (Mn.) High School has committed to the Stanford Cardinal. Davidson is an elite recruit, holding offers from Stanford, Clemson, Colorado, Duke, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

Stanford will still have some spots left over for the premium offensive tackles in the country like Josh Garnett (who has Stanford in his top three), Kyle Murphy (who seems to be thinking of either the Cardinal or the USC Trojans) or Andrus Peat (whose interest in the Cardinal has emerged most recently). But regardless of who else commits, landing a player like Davidson certainly will ensure the offensive line will rebuild itself back to form the next few years.
