Cal Vs. Washington State Score Update: Golden Bears Jump Out To Early 13-0 Lead

In the first fifteen minutes of play, the California Golden Bears are taking advantage of the defense for the Washington State Cougars. The Golden Bears lead by a score of 13-0 entering the second quarter.

Cal got on the board first with an early 19-yard touchdown pass from Zach Maynard to Anthony Miller that capped off a six-play, 66-yard drive by Cal. In the closing minutes of the quarter, Cal went on another long drive, this one taking 4:05 with 8 plays for 54 yards and ended with Isi Sofele taking a one-yard pitch into the Cougars end zone. Giorgio Tavecchio's kick was blocked, but the end result was Cal keeping WSU off the board entirely and holding onto a 13-point lead.

The Cal defense is doing a great job of keeping pressure on Cougars quarterback Marshall Lobbestael, keeping him to only 26 yards with five complete passes on 11 attempts.
