California Golden Bears linebacker Mychal Kendricks was put in a difficult position this year when he had to move from outside to inside linebacker after Mike Mohamed graduated. Kendricks has always been talented though, and he proved he was versatile enough to play multiple positions.
Kendricks finished third in tackles in the Pac-12 and fourth in tackles for loss. He had to lead to squad against some of the best teams in the conference, racking up the numbers against teams like USC, Washington, Stanford and Oregon State with 10+ tackles each game. He had to be the main defender and tackler when Dave Wilkerson and Chris McCain got injured and Cal had to shift from a 3-4 to a 4-3 front, and helped the Cal defense to some impressive efforts over the last month of the season.
