Arik Armstead might be the top college football recruit in the country, and he hasn't really seemed to be that interested in the discussion when he was committed to USC. Now that he's reopened his recruitment, it looks like he's planning to make the most of it and take all the visits he can possibly take. He visited Notre Dame this weekend, and you'd figure more top-profile visits will be on their way.
According to Wiliam WIlkerson off ESPN, one such visit by the Elk Grove Northern California prep tackle will be to the University of Texas, apparently arranged sometime later this year. It's not clear how interested Armstead is in schools like Texas, but an official visit to Austin is a pretty big deal, and the Longhorns must be serious in reciprocating their interest. Texas needs some push in the line of scrimmage on either side of the ball; Armstead could be the talent the Horns coaching staff is looking for to provide that spark.
