Marshawn Lynch And Justin Forsett Reteaming Up In Seattle

New, 1 comment

Marshawn Lynch's trade to Seattle might spell doom and gloom to Niners fans, but it should bring Cal fans some joy, reuniting one of Cal's fiercest duos at tailback. Mike Sando of the NFC West blog reports.

Justin Forsett and Marshawn Lynch played together at California. Lynch was even a groomsman in Forsett's wedding. The two NFL running backs have stayed in touch by phone every week.

That explains why Forsett, the Seattle Seahawks' starting running back, wasn't complaining Tuesday when the team acquired Lynch in a move that will cut into Forsett's playing time.

"Coach (Pete Carroll) definitely stresses competition, and with somebody like that -- me and Marshawn have worked together in the past, so I definitely have no issue with that," Forsett told reporters after practice and before he had a chance to speak with his new teammate.

Forsett was less diplomatic with his Tweet.

All I Can Say Is Double Trouble!!!

As the main running duo in the post-Aaron Rodgers era, Lynch and Forsett rushed for a combined 4227 rushing yards in 2005 and 2006, when they led the Golden Bears to a combined 18-7 record and a co-Pac-10 championship. After the jump, memories.

Warning, loud/profane music, so hit the mute buttons if you're at work.
