Jonathan Okanes of BearTalk talked with Tedford, who tentatively named Guarnero his starter.
Jeff Tedford said after practice this morning that it will be "probably Guarnero" that starts at center against USC. Guarnero practiced all week and is ready to go. He missed last week’s game against UCLA with a sprained ankle.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Galas play a big role as a backup though. He showed that he was a capable run blocker and helped spring Shane Vereen through the middle. Still, the USC defensive line anchored by Jurrell Casey and Armond Armstead should be a much harder task for the sophomore to push around, so it makes sense that Guarnero gets the nod.
