The California Golden Bears are looking to salvage something from what has been a disappointing season in 2012. In front of a national audience on Friday night, they trail the Washington Huskies by a score of 7-0 after one quarter of play.
UW took their lead midway through the quarter with a four-yard touchdown rush from tailback Bishop Sankey. The sophomore has already carried the ball 13 times for 95 yards, and the Bears are yet to really slow him down. Washington quarterback Keith Price has struggled so far, going just 4-for-11 for 59 pass yards.
A costly fumble near the red zone halted what looked to be a promising drive for California five minutes into the game. Zach Maynard has completed five of his eight pass attempts for 89 yards. Chris Harper has been the star for the Bears offense, hauling in three passes for 75 yards.
The second quarter is about to begin. Washington currently has the ball and is threatening to score again.
