Proving that it's never too early to start filling out NCAA brackets, SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean has released his Preseason Bracketology. The California Golden Bears are projected to the the No. 8 seed in the East bracket, matching them up with the No. 9 seed Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Golden Bears boast a talented roster, featuring what is arguably the Pac-12's best backcourt in junior Allen Crabbe and 6'2 junior point guard Justin Cobbs. They'll also return 6'10 forward Richard Solomon, who missed the second half of the season last year due to an academic suspension.

Stanford nabbed the No. 9 seed in the West. The Cardinal are slated to face the No. 8 Georgetown Hoyas.

The St. Mary's Gaels also made an appearance in Dobbertean's brackets, landing the No. 10 seed in the Midwest region and squaring off against the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers.

The Golden Bears will open the 2012-13 regular season on Sunday, Nov. 11 when they play host to the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.
