The California Golden Bears snuck out of the Magness Arena with a win over Denver on Friday night, coming out on top by a score of 72-61. The Bears are now 3-0 this season, and DU falls to 1-2.
Allen Crabbe led the way for Cal yet again. The junior wing had 20 points, eight rebounds and two assists. If there was a downside to Crabbe's night, he turned the ball over four times. That will need to improve once the competition improves for the Bears. Point guard Justin Cobbs had a nice night with 17 points. David Kravish recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
As a team, California shot 51 percent from the field despite going 2 for 7 from behind the arc.
The Pioneers had three players do the majority of their scoring. Brett Olson led the way with 17 points while Chris Udofia chipped in 16 and Royce O'Neale added 14 and eight rebounds.
