San Jose State is led by a high-powered offense, where Bowling Green has a strong defense keeping opponents in check. OddsShark is looking at a close score for the Military Bowl.

For the last three bowl seasons, both Bowling Green and San Jose State were watching the games from the comforts of their respective dorm rooms. The Military Bowl will be SJSU's first bowl game since 2006 and Bowling Green's first since 2009.

Despite having not played in a bowl game in six straight years, the Spartans are favored by 7; total points are at 43.

No. 24 San Jose State has been one of the surprises of the college football season. The Spartans are explosive on offense, having scored 30 or more points in nine of 12 games during the season while holding opponents to less than 30 points in 10 of 12.

In contrast, Bowling Green has scored more than 30 points in only three games this season. The defense has held the opposing team to under 20 points in 11 of 12 games. The Falcons were under in points in all but one game.

The Military Bowl will be played in RFK Stadium (Washington, D.C.) on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 3:00 p.m. ET. For more on the lines for this game, visit our buddies at OddsShark.com.

Screw the prenup, we're going to battle this out in court.

The NHL and NHLPA are beginning to resemble a couple going through a very messy and very public divorce. They hate each other so much they're going to court over speculation and now won't even talk to one another.

Late last week, word got out the NHLPA was leaning toward filing a "disclaimer of interest" with the courts. By doing so, the players association would be on the path to decertification as a union, a tactic used in the most recent NBA and NFL lockouts. In the simplest of terms, by decertifying, the players, acting as individuals, are able to file anti-trust lawsuits against the owner of the team they are under contract with, starting a snowball of other issues.

Remember, no decision has been made by the players to file the motion with the courts. The NHLPA is considering this path.

As a preemptive measure, the NHL went to court first and filed a class action lawsuit against the players union and specific players on the negotiating committee. The primary argument in their complaint is that the NHLPA is "negotiating in bad faith." This lawsuit could take months, maybe even years, to resolve, should there not be a deal between the two parties.

Fire meet tinder.

Starting Sunday, the NHLPA began voting to authorize the executive committee to decertify, should they choose to do so. Two-thirds of players voting need to be in favor of the move for it to pass. Should it pass, this doesn't mean the NHLPA automatically decertifies; it is simply giving the negotiating committee permission to decertify, if they want to.

Bettman and his deputy, Bill Daly, claim decertification will definitely lead to a cancellation of the season. It could be a bluff. Who knows? As of Monday night, no talks between either side are scheduled.

SJSU junior quarterback David Fales lead his teammates to a bowl game and a spot in the top 25 in his first year as a starter. For this, he was named MVP of the Spartans.

One of the big surprises during the 2012 college football season was the San Jose Spartans. The No. 24 Spartans were 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the WAC. The school's only loss came to the WAC champions, No. 22 Utah State. Quarterback David Fales led his SJSU teammates all the way to the Military Bowl, and for that, he was named Most Valuable Player at the team's awards banquet.

In his first year as a starter, Fales played in all 12 games for the Spartans. He had an outstanding completion percentage of 72.1 percent, hooking up with his receivers 294 times out of 408 tries for 3,798 yards. The threw 31 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. His offensive line kept him kind of safe during the season. He was sacked 25 times with 185 yards lost; 13 sacks for 102 yards came against Utah State. Following that game, he was not sacked again until five weeks later against BYU.

Fales and San Jose State will be playing in the Military Bowl against Bowling Green on Dec. 27 at 12:00 p.m. PT.

The Pac-12 champion Stanford Cardinal will spend their New Year's Day in Southern California playing Montee Ball and the Wisconsin Badgers. Who ya got?

The Rose Bowl in Pasedena, Calif. will feature one of the most dynamic players in college football against one of the most tenacious teams from the Pac-12. Montee Ball and his Wisconsin Badgers teammates will take to the field against the No. 6 Standford Cardinal on New Year's Day. So, which has more impact on the opening lines, the player or the team? Right now, it's the team. Stanford is favored over the Badgers by 6.5 points.

The Badgers ended the season 4-4 in the Big Ten and 8-5 overall, giving them third place in the conference. The undisputed leader is their record-setting running back Ball. This season, he broke the FBS career touchdown record with 82 total TDs in 48 games played over his four years at Wisconsin.

Stanford managed to contain UCLA's record-setting rusher Johnathan Franklin in two games this season, and will likely employ the same techniques against Ball. The Pac-12 champion has an overall record of 11-2, with its only two losses coming coming against Washington State and No. 1 Notre Dame. They did all of this without Andrew Luck.

Stephen Curry is a one-man wrecking crew for Golden State, but he can't do it all himself night after night.

The Orlando Magic must still be on a high from their victory over the Los Angeles Lakers that caused Kobe Bryant to throw a temper tantrum (again). Tied coming into the fourth quarter, the Magic hit their first three shots and began to pull away from the Warriors. Each team missed a considerable amount of shots down the stretch, but Orlando made just enough to win, 102-94.

Stephen Curry led Golden State with yet another double-double. Curry shot an abysmal 9-for-21 on the floor, but still managed to have team-high 25 points and 11 assists. David Lee contributed 22 points and nine rebounds. Off the bench, Jarrett Jack added 17 points, four assists and four rebounds. Lee and Jack lead the Warriors in turnovers with three each.

Magic center Nikola Vucevic was a rebounding machine with 15 grabs. He added 14 points for his own double-double. Arron Afflalo and Glen "Big Baby" Davis led Orlando in scoring with 24 points a piece. From the bench, J.J. Redick was second in points with 22. He hit 4-of-6 three-pointers and was 4-for-4 on the free-throw line.

Even when turning the ball over 17 times, the Golden State Warriors found a way to win. With the win, Golden State remains tied with the LA Clippers - who also won tonight - at a 10-6 record for first place in the Pacific Division.

The two-headed monster of David Lee and Stephen Curry challenged the Pacers all game, ultimately earning each player a double-double. Lee scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds. Curry posted 22 points and 11 assists. The only knocks against the two were their turnovers; Lee had two and Curry had a team high of four. Klay Thompson lead the Warriors in points with 22 and contributed seven rebounds plus three turnovers. From the bench, Jarrett Jack added 18 points, five rebounds and five assists with three turnovers.

The Kings struggles continue, turning the ball over 17 times against the offensively red-hot LA Clippers. This is the third straight loss for Sacramento.

Nothing good can come from 17 turnovers in one game, just ask the Sacramento Kings. Of the 12 players dressed for the Kings on Saturday night, only three players didn't have one or more turnovers against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers took advantage of every opportunity given to them and destroyed Sacramento, 116-81.

In the loss, Jason Thompson was the bright spot with a double-double of 12 rebounds and 14 points with zero turnovers. Marcus Thornton lead the team in scoring with 20 points, shooting 6-for-9 from the three point line. Off the bench, Chuck Hayes added eight rebounds, four assists and two block shots.

This is the third loss for Sacramento, taking it's record to 4-12. The team has three days to regroup before facing the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m. PT. The game can be seen on CSCA.
In his first year with the franchise, Angel Pagan played an integral role in the San Francisco Giants success. Now that it's time to talk about a new contract, the two sides aren't seeing eye-to-eye.

After winning the World Series for the second time in three years, no one is surprised that the San Francisco Giants want to keep the team together. Outfielder Angel Pagan played significant role in SF's championship and finds himself a coveted free agent this off-season. Pagan, 31, is currently in negotiations to return to the Giants; however, the two sides are reportedly unable to agree to the length of the new deal.

Drafted by the New York Mets in 1999, Pagan was acquired by San Francisco via trade in the off-season following the 2011 season. In the final year of his $4.85 million contract, Pagan played in a team-high 154 games. He surpassed career highs in doubles (38) and triples (15) and lead the Giants in stolen bases (29) and runs (95). Pagan was ranked 32nd in National League MVP voting.

Angel Pagan will have a home for the 2013 season, but where will it be?

The game might not fit into 'rivalry weekend' but it doesn't mean the game won't be good. San Jose State traded scoring opportunities all game with Louisiana Tech. The Spartans earned the victory and their 10-2 record.

Bowling, anyone? Lost in the hysteria of the Notre Dame win was a pretty good football game between two 9-2 schools, San Jose State and Louisiana Tech. In a day full of rivalries, this contest didn't have 'instant classic' written all over it. Instead, it was a high scoring bout with the teams trading scoring opportunities up through the final minutes of game. San Jose State ended up the victor, 52-43.

In the first quarter, San Jose State took the early lead, 10-0. With three minutes left in the quarter, Louisiana Tech's Kenneth Dixon rushed for an eight yard touchdown and kicker Matt Nelson missed the extra point, leaving the Bulldogs down, 10-6.

The shooting gallery opened the second as both teams traded scoring chances through out the quarter. One minute in, San Jose quarterback David Fales completed an 18 yard pass to Ryan Otten for the TD, kicker Austin Lopez hit the extra point. Lopez made all seven of his field goal attempts in the game. Minutes later, LA Tech's Malon Lee caught a 15 yard pass for the touchdown and a successful point after. Four minutes later, San Jose answered the bell on a one yard De'Leon Eskridge rush. With the Spartans only up by nine points, LA Tech scored the next two touchdowns to close out the half and go into the locker room ahead, 27-24.

The third quarter was much like the second. First the Bulldogs hit a field goal, extending their lead to 30-24. At the 8:24 mark, SJSU's Ina Liaina ran for a four yard TD, putting the Spartans back on top 31-30. Less than a minute later, Myles White caught a 33 yard long pass from Colby Cameron bringing Louisiana Tech ahead, again, 37-31. Slightly over a minute after that, SJSU's Eskridge scored his second TD of the game. The quarter ended with San Jose on top, 37-38.

To open the fourth quarter, Eskridge earned a touchdown hat trick, extending San Jose's lead to 37-45. Midway through the quarter, LA Tech QB Cameron completed a 10 yard throw to Quinton Patton for a touchdown. The two would attempt to hook up again on the two-point play and failed. SJSU still ahead, 43-45. The Spartans iced the game with 7:40 left to go on a 26 yard Fales to Jabari Carr pass for the touchdown and extra point.
After trailing for three quarters, Golden State held Minnesota to only 11 points in the fourth quarter and added 26 points of their own to catch up and beat the T-Wolves.

After starting off the season with a respectable 5-2 record, things have gone from bad to worse for Minnesota. On Saturday night, Golden State handed the Timberwolves their fifth straight loss. Much of the Warriors 96-85 victory can be attributed to the offense put up by Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, combining for 44 of Golden State's 96 points.
