The Oakland Athletics will look to continue their improbable 2012 season as they face the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, which begins on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Detroit.
Oakland claimed the second seed in the American League playoffs after they erased a 13-game deficit in the AL West to overtake the Texas Rangers to win the division crown. The Tigers won the AL Central outright on Oct. 2 after battling the Chicago White Sox for the division lead for much of the season.
The winner of the A's vs. Tigers series would move on to face the winner of the series between the first-seeded New York Yankees and the winner of the WIld Card play-in game between the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles.
The schedule for the ALDS is as follows:
Gm 1 A's at Tigers Sat Oct. 6 3:07 p.m. PT
Gm 2 A's at Tigers Sun Oct. 7 TBD
Gm 3 Tigers at A's Tue Oct. 9 TBD
Gm 4* Tigers at A's Wed Oct. 10 TBD
Gm 5* Tigers at A's Thu Oct. 11 TBD
*if necessary
