NFL Playoffs 2013 picks and predictions: Experts split on 49ers and Packers

In what everyone agrees should be a close game, a few more experts went with the Packers than the 49ers.

In what nearly everyone agrees will be the best game of the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers will host the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Either team could win and experts are split, but a few more have sided with the Packers than the 49ers.

Joel Thorman of SB Nation believes the Packers will win a tight game, 30-27, but says he has little confidence in his pick. At ESPN, seven of 12 experts picked the Niners, but their Accuscore projection model chose the Packers. Two of three Yahoo! Sports experts went with Green Bay. The Packers received even more love at CBS Sports, where seven of eight experts think the 49ers will lose. Of their experts, only Dave Richard picked San Francisco, but the CBS Prediction Machine believes the 49ers will come out on top. The mathematical model used at Odds Shark picked the 49ers as well, in a narrow 30-29 victory.

Overall, 15 out of 24 experts (62.5 percent) picked Green Bay as compared to only nine picks for San Francisco. But, math sided with the 49ers as two of three predictive models picked San Francisco.
