Fantasy Football 2012 Sit/Start: Niners face Jets without Revis

Darrelle Revis won't be there to defend the Niners receivers this week. Will the Niners seek to capitalize on this?

Brace Hemmelgarn-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

This week the Niners head into New Jersey to face the New York Jets. The Jets lost star cornerback Darrelle Revis in Week 3 to a torn ACL and is likely out for the year. CB Kyle Wilson will replace him, and the Jets are fairly thin at corner. Wilson showed a lot of promise at Boise State but has not yet lived up to expectations. I expect the Niners to come out firing and to pick on Wilson as much as possible. With that in mind, let's look at who to start this week for the Niners.

START: Alex Smith. He has been very good this year despite a lackluster performance against the Vikings. I anticipate him throwing for at least 250 yards and a couple touchdowns.

START: Vernon Davis. He is still the Niners most important offensive weapon, and even in a terrible game last week he scored a touchdown. He will probably score at least one against New York.

START: Randy Moss. The Niners tried their best to get Moss involved in the passing game last week but Alex Smith did not make the necessary throws even though Moss was open (and in fact, as has been the case for most of the year, was completely ignored by the defense). This week will be the week that Moss breaks out and really makes himself an integral part of the Niners attack.

Normally everyone on the Niners offense is startable most weeks but this week I would sit...

SIT: Frank Gore. The Vikings line was able to shut down Gore last week by getting a ferocious push along the line. I don't expect the Jets to have a similar level of success, but I also don't expect Gore to have a huge fantasy day.
