San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs made his return to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis, according to a report from CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.

This was the first time Jacobs has suited up in full pads since he suffered a knee injury during a preseason game on Aug. 18 against the Houston Texans. He took part in warmups but did not participate in full practice, and remains questionable for the Niners matchup with the New York Jets this Sunday.

Jacobs, an eight-year veteran out of Southern Illinois, came over to the 49ers from the Super Bowl winning New York Giants during the offseason and is yet to make his regular season debut for Jim Harbaugh's squad.

San Francisco is practicing at Youngstown State in Youngstown, Ohio this week to remain acclimated to the Eastern time zone. They did the same last season in between their road meetings with Cincinnati and Philadelphia.
