NFC West standings, Week 14: 49ers find themselves in a divisional race

The Seattle Seahawks have made the NFC West interesting, not allowing a 49ers coronation.

All of a sudden, the NFC West is now a dogfight between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.

After a loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, the 49ers are now 8-3-1. The Seahawks won a rare road game to move to 7-5 and have three of their final four games at home. The Seahawks haven't lost in their own building, widely considered the best home field advantage in the league.

If the Seahawks win their final four games and the Niners lose to the Seahawks and, let's say, the New England Patriots in their last four, then the Seahawks are division champions. A lot is now riding on the coming weeks, including a clash between the Seahawks and 49ers in Seattle on Dec. 23 that could decide the division.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Rams sit at 5-6 and the Arizona Cardinals are still engulfed in their season-crushing eight-game losing streak and are now 4-8.
