The San Francisco 49ers' already imposing defense could get a boost from the 2013 NFL Draft, and the National Football Post's 2.0 mock draft has Jim Harbaugh's team taking Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle Jesse Williams with the 29th overall selection.
The 6'4, 320 pound defensive lineman might be a project of sorts, but Russ Lande believes he has all the tools to become a force in the NFL. He has both the size and explosiveness, and the 49ers could be in need of depth at the defensive tackle position. San Francisco lost star tackle Justin Smith against the New England Patriots on Sunday night, and his departure with an elbow injury triggered a suddenly successful Patriots offense.
Adding a player like Williams could help solve any of those depth issues.
Other defensive tackles that Lande has going in the first round include Utah's Star Lotulelei, who will likely be gone by the 29th pick, Missouri's Sheldon Richardson, and Ohio State's Johnathan Hankins.
