The San Francisco 49ers are widely viewed as the fourth-best NFL team following their bye week. Meanwhile, the Oakland Raiders fell two spots across the board after falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
The AP Pro 32 Poll, ESPN, CBS and SB Nation power rankings all have the 49ers pegged behind the Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and Chicago Bears, though not necessarily in that order. In a few of the rankings, San Francisco moved up a spot thanks to the New York Giants falling after their 24-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Oakland Raiders fell two spots in most power rankings. Dennis Allen's club got butchered by the Buccaneers and rookie running back Doug Martin, who went for 251 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Oakland appeared as high as 26th and as low as 29th place.
Still, the Raiders are 3-5 on the year and are somehow still within reach of fellow AFC West teams like the San Diego Chargers and even the division-leading Denver Broncos.
