Tight end Delanie Walker of the San Francisco 49ers could be one of the first real injuries the team has had to deal with this year. The 49ers have enjoyed an extremely good bill of health this season and have had almost all of their players fully practice. That will change after this weekend.
Walker needed a cart to get off the field after sustaining a hip injury. Mindi Bach of CSN Bay Area reports that Walker's injury is simply a bruise and he walked without a limp or assistance today. There is no word yet on his status for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.
More serious injuries: Kyle Williams and Kendall Hunter both went onto injured reserve after the game. Hunter's injury will almost certainly result in the activation of two promising rookies for the 49ers. Both LaMichael James and A.J. Jenkins have spent plenty of time on the inactive list, but will probably be pressed into duty now.
