Monday Night Football will feature a battle of division leaders as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Chicago Bears. While the 49ers opened as 4.5-point favorites, they have been boosted to as high as 7-point favorites at some sportsbooks, according to Oddsshark.com.
Oddsmakers are expecting a defensive battle, as the over/under for Monday night's game is set at 27.
The 49ers (6-2-1) are coming off a disappointing 24-24 stalemate against the St. Louis Rams last Sunday and could be without quarterback Alex Smith after he suffered a concussion in the contest. Smith was cleared for limited participation in yesterday's practice, but still must be cleared for full practice and simulated contact before he will be able to play on Monday night. Colin Kaepernick would start in Smith's place.
Chicago (7-2) is coming off a 13-6 loss to the AF South-leading Houston Texans in Week 10.
Kickoff for Monday night's battle between the 49ers and the Bears is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT at Candlestick Park. The game will be televised on ESPN.
