The San Francisco 49ers offensive line was named the winner of the weekly Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award in Week 7 following a 13-6 victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers rolled up 313 total yards at 5.5 yards per play. The success on the offensive line was especially evident in the rushing totals, where Frank Gore took 16 carries for 131 yards and backup running back Kendall Hunter rushed nine times for 31 yards.

Starting on the offensive line for San Francisco were tackles Joe Staley and Anthony Davis. They were joined by guards Mike Iupati and Alex Boone, while Jonathan Goodwin held down the center spot.

The honor is the second for San Francisco this season -- the 49ers also won in Week 5 against Green Bay -- and gives them a solid shot at winning the 2012 title for the award named after John Madden. The New Orleans Saints won two of the first three John Madden awards in 2009 and 2011, and the New England Patriots won the 2010 honor.
