Sit/start week 11: Niners face stiff test vs. Bears

The Niners face one of the league's best defenses this week when they host Chicago. Are there any players worth starting?

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

This week on Monday Night Football the Niners will play host to the NFC North leading Chicago Bears. The Bears are fourth in total defense and are a turnover causing machine, led by defensive back Tim Jennings with a mindboggling eight interceptions on the season.

Here are the problems for this game for the Niners. The Bears only allow 92 yards rushing per game, which is fourth best in the league, in addition to 215 yards through the air per game which is tenth best. The Bears defense is nearly as dominant as San Francisco's, which indicates to me this will be a tough defensive struggle and possibly a field goal fest. That leads me to recommend only one player to start this week:

START: David Akers. Yes, he missed the potential game winning field goal last week against the Rams. That doesn't matter at all, because he will get opportunity after opportunity against Chicago and he will probably make most, if not all of them. Mark him down for at least 13 fantasy points this week which is great for a kicker.
