While the spread has slimmed some after opening in favor of the San Francisco 49ers by five points, it is still the NFC representative that is favored to beat the Baltimore Ravens by 3.5 in sports books as of Wednesday, according to OddsShark. Also dropping has been the over/under that originally opened at 49 and has since dropped to 47.5.

The 49ers have the NFL's No. 11 scoring offense, but they are definitely a run the ball, stop the run type of team that finished second in the league in points allowed. The Ravens finished just ahead of the 49ers with the 10th most points scored, but weren't as dominant a defensive unit, finishing No. 12 in points allowed and No. 17 in total yardage allowed.

In the playoffs, both the 49ers and Ravens defenses have played far below their league average in yardage allowed as both have allowed an average of 400 or more yards in their run to the Super Bowl. However, the 49ers recorded four turnovers in their two postseason games, while the Ravens recorded eight in three games.

Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. PT and will be televised on CBS.
