The San Francisco 49ers jumped out to a 10-0 lead against the Green Bay Packers early in the second quarter thanks to none other than wide receiver Randy Moss, who pulled in a 14-yard touchdown from quarterback Alex Smith. As the 49ers' PR Twitter account pointed out, this touchdown grab has extra significance.
#49ers WR Randy Moss just moved into sole possession of 2nd place on the NFLs all-time TD reception list (154) with that TD from Alex Smith.— Bob Lange (@49ersPR) September 9, 2012
At the end of the 2010 season, it was unknown whether or not Moss would ever catch another NFL pass, let alone a touchdown.
Moss was wide open on the touchdown grab, running directly past Green Bay's secondary to reel in the score.
