The 2012 NBA Hall of Fame induction ceremony gets underway Friday night at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., honoring a number of deserving folks who have given so much to the game.
There are 11 inductees this year, including the likes of the former Golden State Warriors head coach Don Nelson, five-time All-Star Reggie Miller, and three-time National College Player of the Year Ralph Sampson.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Katrina McClain, NBA star Jamaal Wilkes, referee Hank Nichols, and the first women's professional basketball team, the All American Red Heads, will also be inducted.
Five inductees will be enshrined from the five Hall of Fame committees including Phil Knight from the Contributor Direct Election Committee, Mel Daniels from the ABA Committee, Don Barksdale from the Early African American Pioneers Committee, Lidia Alexeeva from the International Committee, and Chet Walker from the Veterans Committee.
