Giants Minor League C Leonardo Rojas Suspended 50 Games

San Francisco minor leaguer Leonardo Rojas has been suspended for 50 games after "testing positive for metabolites of Nandrolone," MLB announced in a press release on Thursday. The suspension will become effective at the start of next baseball season.

Rojas will not receive pay during the suspension.

The catcher is currently playing with the Arizona League Giants in the rookie league. The 22-year-old currently has a .250 batting average and nine RBI with the minor league squad. Rojas was enjoying a productive month in August, batting a .313 average compared to his .217 average in July.

Rojas was selected by San Francisco in the 15th round and 478th overall in the 2012 MLB Draft.

The league also suspended St. Louis Cardinals minor league player Alan Ahmady on Thursday.
