Athletics Vs. Angels Final Score: Oakland Swept At Home With 7-1 Loss

The Athletics were the hotter team heading into their three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels but this tilt has cooled them off considerably. The A's lost by a score of 7-1 on Wednesday to be swept at home by their divisional rivals.

The A's were once again in a hole early on, as the Angels scored three times in the top of the third inning, thanks to RBI singles from Torii Hunter and Howie Kendrick.

Seth Smith hit an RBI single in the bottom of the third to cut the Angels lead to 3-1 but were unable to get any more runs off of starter Dan Haren.

Oakland starter Brandon McCarthy had to leave the game in the fourth inning after a terrifying moment where he was hit in the side of the head with a line drive.

A horrific top of the ninth inning ended up dooming the A's. Maicer Izturis drew a bases-loaded walk, Hunter drove in two runs with an RBI single and Izturis came home on a double-steal as the Angels plated their seventh run of the game.
