The second week of the 2012 U.S. Open has seen plenty of rain, and play was suspended once again at 8:20 a.m. PT Wednesday as courts were too wet for play. Andy Roddick, whose fourth-round match with Juan Martin Del Potro was delayed on Tuesday night, saw play halted at a crucial point.
Roddick and Del Potro are currectly locked in a first-set tiebreak, with Roddick holding a 1-0 lead.
Women's No. 11 Marion Bartoli had momentum on her side before the sky opened up. Bartoli had broken No. 3 Maria Sharapova's first two serving games in their quarterfinal match and had a 4-0 first-set lead.
Men's No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic was one game away from taking the first set in his match against Phillip Kohlschreiber of Germany. He led their fourth-round duel, 5-2.
