49ers Vs. Jets: San Francisco, New York Jets scoreless through one

A defensive battle is underway Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey as the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets are scoreless after one quarter.

Both offenses have been able to produce yardage, but neither has been able to convert their offensive output into points. As the first quarter came to a close, the 49ers were driving in the Jets' red zone, threatening to score the game's first points.

Through the first quarter, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith was 2-of-4 passing for 31 yards, while wide reciever Mario Manningham's 28-yard scamper had provided the jolt the 49ers offense was looking for late in the first quarter.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made a quick appearance, throwing one deep ball to Randy Moss, which was broken up by the Jets' secondary, which is missing Pro Bowl corner Darrelle Revis.
