The Raiders have wallowed at the bottom of most NFL Power Rankings since the beginning of the season, and that hasn't changed, even after a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
SB Nation's Joel Thorman didn't give the Raiders much of a boost in his Week 4 NFL Power Rankings, bumping them just one spot up to No. 30:
30. Oakland Raiders (LW: 31, 1-2): Sorry, Raider fans. I should be recognizing the win over the Steelers but I'm having trouble justifying them any higher. How high should the Raiders be?
Thorman was the most critical of the Raiders. ESPN brought them up three spots to No. 27, while Brian Billick at Fox Sports slotted them at the No. 26 spot. Yahoo sports puts Oakland at No. 25, and is happy to give credit for the Pittsburgh win:
So what if they needed a few gifts from the Steelers? They've still got to go out there and score, and they proved they could. Now Carson Palmer and Darren McFadden just need to prove they can do it for more than a quarter at a time.
The good news for Oakland is that they don't appear to be in a particularly tough division this season. The San Diego Chargers are the only team with a winning record, and the rest of the AFC West is just one game back at 1-2.
The Raiders will have a chance at a division win when they travel to Denver on Sunday.
