Darrius Heyward-Bey Back At Home, Expected To Make Full Recovery

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, who suffered a scary injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Heyward-Bey was diagnosed with a concussion and a neck strain.

Heyward-Bey was injured early in the fourth quarter of the Raiders' 34-31 win. He ran a route to the end zone and suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers safety Ryan Mundy. Heyward-Bey crumpled to the turf and was motionless for several minutes. He had to be taken off on a stretcher but gave a thumbs up as he was leaving the stadium.

Later in the game, Mundy was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Raiders tight end Brandon Myers. Myers was diagnosed with a concussion on the sideline. Mundy was not penalized for either hit.
