49ers To Spend Layover In Youngstown, Again

The San Francisco 49ers have a two-week road trip. In Week 3 of the regular season, the 49ers will head on over to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. Then in Week 4 they head east to face the New York Jets.

Instead of flying back to the Bay Area midweek though, the 49ers will do something they did last year during one of their longer road trips of the season. They'll be spending part of their week in Youngstown, Ohio.

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area spoke with 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh:

"I thought it was a real positive when we went through it last year, that we were together. It gave us a great chance to be around each other. You stayed longer at the meals, got to know each other more, found out a different guy's story that you didn't know before you had a longer conversation with him than sometimes you did at the facility.

"So, I didn't feel that that was a tough thing. I thought it was a positive thing."

Last year, the 49ers had a two week East Coast road trip where they faced the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles in consecutive weeks, with the games also coming during Weeks 3 and 4 of the regular season. The 49ers beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 13-8, then went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-23.

Talk about the 49ers layover by heading on over to Niners Nation.
