San Jose State's Vince Buhagiar has taken home WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in the Spartans' 40-20 victory over the Colorado State Rams on Saturday. Buhagiar is the second-straight Spartan to win the award, after defensive end Travis Johnson was honored last week, according to MercuryNews.com.
↵The junior linebacker, Buhagiar, recorded 11 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble against the Rams.
↵The win moved the Spartans to 2-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to Stanford. San Jose State will try to continue their defensive success against a second-straight Mountain West Conference opponent, San Diego State, on Saturday.
↵The Aztecs will provide a challenge, as they've scored 91 points combined in their last two games, both wins. The two teams will meet at 5 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Calif.
