Jon Condo Injury: Raiders Sign Longsnapper Nick Guess, Add Two Others

The Oakland Raiders signed longsnapper Nick Guess and two other players to their practice squad on Wednesday, according to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times. Defensive lineman Brandon Bair and cornerback Coye Francies were also added to the team.

To make room for the three moves, Oakland released receiver Brandon Carswell, defensive lineman Vaughn Meatoga and linebacker Nathan Stupar.

The most important transaction was the one at longsnapper. Pro Bowler Jon Condo was knocked out of Monday night's loss to the San Diego Chargers with a concussion, and a return date isn't known as the team awaits Condo to be medically cleared for play, according to the Los Angeles Times. On Monday, linebacker Travis Goethel took over at longsnapper after Condo's injury and botched two snaps to punter Shane Lechler. Another snap resulted in a blocked punt by the Chargers' defense.

Corkran reports that the team will wait a bit on Condo's status to determine if Guess will sign with their main roster. Guess, out of Tennessee, was most recently with San Diego, where he was released during the team's roster cuts.
