Giants Vs. Cardinals, Final Score: Marco Scutaro's 7 RBI Lead G-Men To 15-0 Romp

I don't know what the San Francisco Giants had to eat before Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, but they should keep it up as Marco Scutaro's seven RBI's paced the Black and Orange en route to a 15-0 rout at Busch Stadium.

Scutaro topped his previous high of four RBI's handedly, capping it off with a grand slam in the 9th inning. He finished the game 3-6 and two RBI double and RBI single. Scutaro also became the first Giant since Jeff Kent in 2001 to have a seven-plus RBI game.

Hunter Pence went 2-5 with a pair of RBI singles, while Melky Cabrera was 2-4 with an RBI as well. Brandon Crawford went 2-4 with an RBI single, while Angel PAgan and Ryan Theriot each added an RBI as well. Brandon Belt was 2-5 with a double.

As for Ryan Vogelsong (W, 10-5), he lowered his ERA even more after seven scoreless innings of three-hit ball. Cardinals starter Joe Kelly lasted five innings after allowing seven runs, while Brian Fuentes and Mitchell Boggs each allowed four runs out of the bullpen. Reliever Jose Mijares made his Giants debut on Thursday, giving up one hit, one walk, and one strikeout in one inning of work.

This marked the biggest beatdown the Giants have ever put on the Cardinals in St. Louis, and the worst since June 27, 1894, according to Andrew Baggarly.

Full box score can be found here.

Madison Bumgarner goes for the series win on Thursday against the Cardinals Adam Wainwright. First pitch is set for 10:45 a.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
